Province Approves Crown Water Lot Lease
We received some great news from the Province yesterday--approval for the Crown lease on the two water lots which will allow us to build the docks. You can read the provincial announcement here: http://www2.news.gov.bc.ca/news_releases_2009-2013/2011FOR0097-000768.htm
This is another important step forward as we move closer to making the Victoria International Marina a reality. We are now awaiting word from the federal government on the Navigable Waters permit. We had to re-apply for a new one when the City of Victoria downzoned the site, which meant we had to reduce the number of slips by half to 29. The original Navigable Waters permit was for the larger marina site.
We are also waiting on word from the City of Victoria for our Development Permit to build the two service and hospitality buildings that will house marina office, restaurant and coffee shops.
But today, we are happy to report on the Provincial government approval and look forward to creating much needed boat moorage for boating enthusiasts here and abroad.
